| The quality of U.S. tap water is generally quite good. However, municipalities introduce chlorine as a disinfectant. Lead and copper can leach out of household plumbing. Using BRITA water filtration products reduces chlorine, lead, copper and water hardness further. In fact, in better restaurants, tap water is often treated before it’s used for cooking.
